Designed by noted architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee, its unique features are evident everywhere: from the three-story Great Hall window wall to the skylight covered walkways that take you to your meeting destination. With over 100,000 sqft. of flexible meeting space no matter what configuration your event requires, the Century Center can accommodate your needs. Our great meeting spaces include the 25,000 sqft. Convention Hall, Modern and unique 12,000 sq. ft. Discovery Ballroom as well as the 16,000 sqft. Great Hall, renowned for its grandiose 30 ft. glass floor to ceiling windows which overlooks the St. Joseph River. Eighteen other meeting rooms are located throughout the Century Center, all offering flexible space arrangements and are unique themselves. Not to be overlooked are Century Center’s two theaters, Bendix Theater with 694  prefixed seats, and Recital Hall with 164 prefixed seats, great for seminars, concerts, and awards ceremonies.

A climate-controlled herb garden Green Sky Bridge connects the Century Center to the recently renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Baker’s Bar & Grille, and a full service Starbucks.

Coming 2017 – Courtyard by Marriott – connected via underground tunnel to Century Center, this hotel will transform the former College Football Hall of Fame and will feature 130 rooms as well as Aloft South Bend opening in the former 25 story Chase Tower, 2 blocks from Century Center.

The Century Center is owned by the City of South Bend,
governed by the Century Center Board of Managers, funded by the Saint Joseph County Hotel/Motel Tax Board and is proudly managed by SMG Worldwide, with catering provided by SAVOR… South Bend.

SMG & SAVOR… took over operations and food services at Century Center summer 2013 and have made a great deal of improvements which have lead to very much improved customer service scores, new business, and most importantly we have re-introduced Century Center to not only our surrounding area known as “Michiana” but to the world. 

SAVOR….South Bend at Century Center has only 1 motto -

“We Strive for 10” a 10 is the top score we can receive on our  service surveys. Surveys are sent to every client directly after every event.  

Recent Improvements include:

  • Upgraded lighting and HVAC controls
  • Polished concrete in the Exhibit Hall
  • Beautification of the entrances
  • Solar panel installation on the roof
  • New chillers, boilers, water heaters and low-flow fixtures in restrooms
  • New roof, base and specialty lighting conversion to LED
  • The installation of the River Lights, an interactive lighting sculpture on the Island

Throughout the years, Century Center has developed a longstanding impact in the economic growth and development of South Bend, especially in terms of tourism. Tourism is responsible for more than $487 million contributed to the local economy as well as almost 7,000 tourism-related jobs in St. Joseph County.

Century Center is committed to doing its part to attract visitors through hosting events, conferences and meetings, and to providing a positive visitor experience during each and every visitor's stay. Century Center employees have been recognized by Visit South Bend Mishawaka as one of the "Faces of Tourism," an award presented to local organizations and businesses who continually go above and beyond to ensure their customers/clients have the best visitor experience possible while in South Bend Mishawaka.
